Gülten Taranç

Gülten Taranç was born in 1990 in Izmir. In 2008, she went to Mexico as an exchange student with the Rotary Exchange Program. She studied Spanish and Latin Dances at the Universidad de Quintana Roo. In 2013, she graduated from Dokuz Eylül Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Film Design, with a focus on directing.

In 2015, she founded Taranç & Taranç Film Production. In 2017, she completed her master's degree in Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television. In 2016, she directed and produced her first independent feature film, "Yağmurlarda Yıkansam", She became famous for receiving the Renkaheng Selection Audience Award in Antalya Film Festival.

Her second film, "Salyangozlar" were awarded with Köprüde Buluşmalar Award in 2021. Taranç is also the director of the " International Women Filmmakers Festival" organized in Izmir, She also worked as National Category and Project Development Coordinator in 34th Ankara Film Festival in 2023. She has taken part as a coordinator at the Amasra City Festival since its beginning.

Gülten Taranç, who has been dealing with women's problems since 2010 and has produced films about women's problems in Turkey, also continues her career as a songwriter and composer in the field of music.
