Synopsis

“I Beg You To Like Me”, describes the devastation caused in our lives by the “Ideal Body” misconception imposed by the media and the beauty industry by sharing personal stories of a group of individuals consisted of women, men, disabled people and LGBT community members; and seeks different ways to resist the pressure and a path for healing.

She graduated from Dokuz Eylül University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Theatre and Writing. She directed three documentaries about the Gezi Park protests: "We Are the Park-Going Children of the Park-Wearing Generation," "I Beg You, Like Me," and "Who Killed Ceyar?" She is the author of three books: "My Dear Husband," "Hamdi Bey / A Knight in a Black Cloak," and "Urinal Anxiety." Her first poetry collection, "We Are Good on the Outside, But Our Internal Troubles Are Great," was published in 2024. She is the screenwriter of the film "Bathroom," directed by Mustafa Altıoklar. She has written the scripts for more than 20 television series, including "O Hayat Benim" (That Life Is Mine), "My Heart Remains in the Aegean," "Kırgın Çiçekler" (My Heart Remains in the Aegean), "Kırgın Çiçekler" (My Broken Flowers), "Aşk ve Mavi" (My Love and Blue), "My Siblings," "Kaderin Oyunu" (My Destiny's Game), and "Safir" (My Safir). The festival process of the documentary "We Made Many Dead This Spring" has begun.
