Synopsis
Between 1985 and 2007, the Engürü coffee house on Konur Street, one of the most central places in Ankara, became a hub of communication and meeting for those living in Ankara at the time and engaged in intellectual, literary and artistic production. The documentary is a look at the political, social and cultural climate of 1990s Ankara through the productions as a consequence of the friendships, encounters and intersections around this café.

Özlem Mengilibörü
She graduated from METU Department of Architecture. She works in corporate film copywriting and graphic design. She shoots short films and photographs. She has been living in Ankara since 1985 and supports Ankara’s city-oriented publications such as Solfasol and Zıtlar Mecmuası. She was a member of AsiKeçi Ankara Art Initiative. She has been working as an editor and proofreader for activity reports and promotional catalogs at STB Design since 1993. She has been working as a copywriter and screenwriter in company promotional films within STB Production since 2015.
Can Mengilibörü
He graduated from Istanbul Erkek High School and METU Industrial Design department. He works in corporate film production and design. He shoots experimental short films, makes photography, is interested in wet collodion and alternative printing methods. He is an expert in patent and copyright law. He has been living in Ankara since 1985 and supports Ankara’s city-oriented publications such as Solfasol and Zıtlar Mecmuası. He was a member of AsiKeçi Ankara Art Initiative.
