MISSING HOME Poster

Synopsis

Missing Home conveys that a house demolished due to urban transformation brings not only physical but also emotional destruction for the individuals living in that house. The film, which consists of four parts, focuses on a different aspect of the house in each part and questions the connections between the space, the object and the individual. The story, which begins with images of the destruction, presents a brief, non-linear history of the house. The images, photo albums and notebooks taken before and during the destruction raise questions about memories and the meaning of the house, while also revealing the deep impact of the objects belonging to the place on the individual. The vast void left after the destruction is conveyed as a metaphor symbolizing the erasure of emotional ties and memories, rather than physical loss. The film invites us to discover that space is not just a living space, but an emotional space shaped by memories.
