
Synopsis
As her son Jakub is about to start school, Ewa is determined to pursue her artistic career. Invited to an interview at an art academy in Szczecin, she discovers she is pregnant again. Although she does not want the pregnancy, abortion is not legally accessible in Poland. She keeps it secret and travels to Germany, but cannot receive immediate help there either. When her husband Tomasz learns the truth, tensions rise, forcing Ewa to make a life-changing decision.

Masha Mollenhauer

Through Masha Mollenhauer’s grandmother, who was born in Poland, and Masha's German-British roots, the director grew up with many different stories. After several directing internships on film sets, they worked on numerous film projects, including series, as an assistant director and script supervisor. Masha graduated their bachelor's degree in theater studies and philosophy, with a focus on gender roles in film, and completed their master's degree in film directing at the Hamburg Media School in September 2024, where they met the Polish-German author Larissa Jacobsen, who wrote „The Good Woman“.
