PRE-JURY

Born in 1981 in Arhavi, Artvin, Melek Özkar graduated from Anadolu University, Department of Cinema and Television. She worked in production at TRT Ankara and Anadolu University TVA, and later served as assistant producer, producer, and director at TRT Okul. She also contributed to Anadolu University’s distance education productions and held a position as head of the studio department.

Özkar received her MA in 2020 and her PhD in 2024 from Selçuk University, focusing on documentary film aesthetics. Her doctoral research was published in 2025 as Digital Touches in Documentary Film Aesthetics. She has authored academic works in cinema and photography, teaches at Anadolu University, and currently works as a screenwriter and copywriter at the Corporate Communication Coordination Office.
