FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE FILM CATEGORY JURY

Sibel Turan Akan graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema in 2004. After working in the private sector in banking and insurance, she served as a research assistant at Gazi University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema between 2011 and 2013. In 2013, she joined Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Cinema and Television as a research assistant. She received her PhD in 2022 from Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, with her dissertation titled The Representation of Motherhood in Turkish Cinema between 2000–2019. She currently works as an Assistant Professor in the same department. Her research focuses on Turkish cinema, gender studies, motherhood, and film analysis.
